G’s Fresh hosts health and wellbeing workshops for 60 leaders

Fresh food supply organisation G’s Fresh has hosted health and wellbeing workshops for 60 of its key managers and leaders, in order to boost staff energy and improve sleep quality.

The sessions took place throughout April 2019 and were delivered by corporate health and wellbeing provider Let’s Get Healthy. They consisted of a one-hour health and wellbeing review with each leader, including a bio-metric health check and a lifestyle questionnaire. Leaders were then required to attend a full training day, where they learned techniques to help maximise their energy, improve sleep and maintain positive psychology.

The training was supported by three toolkits, animated videos and further telephone coaching, to equip managers to cascade the information back to their teams.

The workshops, which took place at the organisation’s head office in Cambridgeshire, form part of its Thrive leadership programme. Thrive was initially launched in 2016, but is reviewed each year to ensure it is still relevant.

The sessions also align with the organisation’s wider health and wellbeing strategy; this integrates into its health and safety policy and has been designed to support all stages of employees’ careers.

Let’s Get Healthy will conduct more health and wellbeing workshops for G’s Fresh in September 2019.

Beverly Dixon, group HR director at G’s Fresh, said: “It is clear that our combined goal is to elevate the priority of all our leaders’ health and wellbeing, empowering them to thrive in all areas of their work.

“The health and wellbeing module is well received and complements the rest of the Thrive programme, which ensures we all have the skills and resilience to remain innovative, competitive and happy at home and at work.”

G’s Fresh employs 2,000 staff; this increases to more than 5,000 when taking into consideration the seasonal staff and apprentices employed during peak business times.
