Employees who work at broadcasting organisation ITV and who are members of the Broadcasting, Entertainment, Communications and Theatre Union (BECTU) have voted to accept a 2.75% pay increase, effective from 1 January 2018.
The pay offer will apply to all employees working at grades below management level, in roles that cover programming, production and support services.
A spokesperson at ITV said: “Following discussions with all of our key stakeholders, we have made a pay offer for 2018 that has been unanimously accepted by the joint unions. All eligible ITV employees in the UK and Channel Islands will receive a salary increase of 2.75% effective from this month.
“The 2017 employee bonus for eligible UK employees will be paid this March and, as previously announced, the maximum potential payout has increased from £1,500 to £1,750.”
Keith Stokes, chair of the independent broadcasting division at BECTU, added: “The 2.75% pay rise was accepted by the majority of BECTU members who took part in the ballot. However, the very low turnout is perhaps indicative of a lack of enthusiasm for the deal.
“For yet another year the settlement is below all indices of the rate of annual inflation and although the joint union negotiating committee recommended acceptance of the deal, being the best that could be achieved through negotiation, for ordinary ITV staff another year of being worse off looms.”
