Northumbrian Water Group implemented a one-stop benefits portal using single sign-on technology to increase employees’ awareness of their benefits provision and understanding of what is available to them.
The portal, which is provided by benefits technology firm Staffcare, incorporates the organisation’s pensions, corporate individual savings account (ISA) and voluntary benefits programme.
Neil Robson, benefits, contracts and payroll manager at Northumbrian Water Group, says: “We delivered a great online customer experience to our employees who had previously struggled to find details of all their benefits. By using Staffcare’s site, which we named ‘Tap Into’, we now have a one-stop-shop that includes all the details needed with links to our partners to make the employee experience as easy as possible; something our employees told us they wanted.”

The organisation has also converted to a completely online system. “The transfer of all our data will very shortly be automated between the HR, benefits and payroll systems, so that we can enjoy peace of mind and a reduction in administration time,” says Robson.
