Cadbury Schweppes adds wine club to flexible benefits scheme

Cadbury Schweppes has added a wine club to its flexible benefits scheme, after employee survey feedback showed staff would value more lifestyle benefits.

Through the scheme, which is offered via salary sacrifice, staff can order up to 12 cases of wine a year at a 25% discount.

The scheme was communicated to employees using the company’s own wine gums product, which were presented to staff along with a leaflet about the scheme. Sue Laverick, UK employee benefits manager, said: "It is the only product we make that we thought had some kind of link. [Another] reason we chose wine gums is because we don’t produce these at our Bourneville site so it’s something different. If we gave away the chocolate that we produce there, it might not have quite the same impact."

Cadbury Schweppes’ flexible benefits enrolment period is currently open to staff and will close on 9 March.

Laverick added that the company is also using the communications material for its flex scheme to gauge staff feedback about the possibility of introducing a mobile phone scheme in the future.
