Roffey Park extends health and wellbeing initiative

EXCLUSIVE: Half of Roffey Park Institute’s employees have taken part in its second round of health and wellbeing workshops offered to all 60 members of staff.

The leadership institute hosted the workshops for all UK employees in December 2014 and May 2014.

Its first workshops were rolled out in September and October 2013.

The latest round of workshops highlighted the importance of issues such as healthy eating and exercise. These were supported by initiatives such as lunchtime exercise sessions including pilates and yoga, healthy-eating options in its onsite canteen and use of its on-site gym and sauna.

The organisation communicates its health and wellbeing strategy through a staff noticeboard, which displays the latest initiatives that it has on offer and issues quarterly employee updates.

Roffey Parkn partnered with corporate wellness organisation The Tonic to produce the workshops.

Caroline Disano, head of programme delivery and HR at Roffey Park Institute, said: “We want our health and wellbeing workshops to resurface and highlight our values to employees. We aim to be caring, challenging and developing our staff as best we can.

“Taking breaks and getting away from your desk is a great way to refresh your mind and increase productivity, but we have gone a step further and purchased stepometers and blood pressure monitors for employees to borrow to keep track of their progress.

“We always invite staff to give feedback, ideas and thoughts when implementing anything new, as we want what is offered to them to support them. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and as we care for and value them, we want them to be happy and productive.”
