E.On switches on new flex perks and puts PMI in trust

E.On has added new benefits to its flexible benefits plan and switched its private medical insurance to a healthcare trust.

The PMI scheme, provided by Simplyhealth, is employee-funded for most staff and is also available to families.
Ant Donaldson, senior specialist – employee benefits at E.On, said: “PMI has insurance premium tax charged on it, but the user avoids that with a trust, although they do get charged VAT on some elements.”

E.On has also increased the number of benefits available through flex to 19. It has added a dining-out card provided by Gourmet Society, which has already seen a take-up of 700, and cinema passes.
