News update – NU offers all sorts

Norwich Union has launched a voluntary benefits scheme called Allsorts that includes salary sacrificed perks such as a home computing initiative, childcare vouchers and bikes for work.

Launched last month, the scheme is being marketed via mailers, the intranet and various roadshows under the strapline ‘Allsorts of benefits for all sorts of people’.

The Grass Roots Group is co-ordinating the scheme. The insurance firm is looking at introducing mobile phones, car parking and a concierge service in phase two, due next April. Sandy Wilson, head of policy and reward at Norwich Union, said: "We are not going to go down the route of flexible benefits, but what we are going to do is introduce benefits that give employees greater value for money so therefore they can see that the strength of their pound by working for Norwich Union is better than working for [rivals]."

Online, the scheme is linked to a site for employees that showcases Norwich Union’s own products such as home insurance.
