Pearl Group launches flexible benefits

Pearl Group has launched a flexible benefits scheme for 700 of its life company and corporate office staff.

The scheme, called Flexit, went live this month and replaces a previously limited range of benefits.

The plan has been split into three categories: lifestyle perks, including the opportunity to buy and sell holiday; health perks, including dental cover and health screening; and security benefits, such as life assurance and critical illness. Pearl has also added a voluntary benefits scheme, offering discounts at online and high-street retailers.

To communicate the changes, brochures were sent to employees’ home addresses, and a poster campaign was run before and during the flex election period. Two provider roadshows also took place.

Three-quarters of staff logged on to the Vebnet-provided scheme, and 54% made selections. Among staff that made selections, all benefits had a take-up of at least 5%, with critical illness and childcare vouchers at 19% and dental cover 14%. Flexing annual leave was the most popular perk, with 52% take-up.†

Lynne Weller, group reward manager, said: “By introducing Flexit, we have given staff more control and the opportunity to select benefits that suit their personal circumstances and lifestyle.”
