Technology firm Google and financial services business Mastercard were among those named on the UK’s Best Places to Work list for 2023, put together by Glassdoor.
The top three employers on the list were management consultancies Bain and Company and Boston Consulting Group, and software firm ServiceNow.
Glassdoor compiled the ninth annual list from thousands of reviews posted online between 19 October 2021 and 17 October 2022, recognising the best 50 employers with 1,000 or more employees. The reviewers ranked workplace factors such as diversity and inclusion, compensations and benefits, culture and values, and work-life balance.
The ratings were based on a five-point scale, with 1.0 being very dissatisfied, 3.0 being OK, and 5.0 being very satisfied.
The majority (91%) of Bain and Company employees said they would recommend the business to a friend, and 96% approved of its chief executive officer (CEO).
Meanwhile, 91% of ServiceNow staff would recommend the organisation to a friend and 97% of the workforce approved of the CEO.

Christian Sutherland-Wong, CEO of Glassdoor, said: “The past year brought extreme highs and lows for job seekers and employees, but despite an increasingly uncertain job market, Glassdoor data shows there are still companies hyper-focused on creating outstanding employee experiences.
“It’s encouraging to see companies doubling down on employee mental health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, competitive benefits and flexible work environments as we head into 2023. I sincerely congratulate all of the Best Places to Work winners.”
