Restaurant organisation Casual Dining Group (CDG), which owns brands including Bella Italia, Café Rouge and Las Iguanas, has launched a new reward and recognition scheme for its 7,000 employees in the UK.

The new programme, provided by Each Person, was implemented on 17 October 2019 to help boost employee satisfaction and motivation across CDG’s 260 operating sites.

The scheme enables CDG’s managers to recognise individual employees, as well as wider teams, for meeting business objectives or demonstrating behaviours that align with the organisation’s values.

As part of the initiative, managers are able to send employees or departments a non-monetary digital ecard. Alternatively, managers can attach online currency ‘epoints’ to the card, which can be spent via a digital shopping platform. All staff have a free membership to use the epoints shopping site; this enables staff to receive at least a 10% discount when shopping at popular retailers such as John Lewis, Debenhams, Currys, Argos, B&Q and Amazon.

Claire Clarke, group HR director at CDG, said: “Our employees work hard and exceed expectations daily. Our partnership with Each Person will help us show our appreciation and provide tangible recognition for the valuable contribution of our workforce.”

Employees can additionally build their epoints total outside the workplace, via everyday activities such as shopping online. Epoints can also be purchased online or gifted to and from friends and family.

Denise Mackenzie, head of people operations at CDG, added: “[This system] includes many valuable tools, such as reports on recognition across the business and reminders of special occasions, such as birthdays or work anniversaries for managers. It is a compelling benefit scheme, providing the widest choice of rewards and cost savings to our employees.”
